Svay Rieng

Svay Rieng covers 296 kilometers. It is just became the country's busiest highways running straight through - National Highway No 1, which links Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam just crossing the Mekong River by way of the Neak Loeung Ferry. It is also one of the poorest provinces of Cambodia due to the poor quality of the land. Most of the provincial population ekes out a subsistence living based on farming and fishing.

  • Bavet International Border
    Located 48 kilometers from Svay Rieng provincial town is the international border with Vietnam. The Bavet checkpoint is the main international border crossing for people traveling between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City. Bavet's main attractions are two casinos that are within short walking distance of the border. These casinos are very popular with foreigners crossing the border. There is also a market, Psar Nat, where goods are transferred between Cambodia and Vietnam.
     
  • Prey Ba Sak
    The area of Prey Ba Sak has 84 square meters and borders river of Vag Ko at the North and the East, village of local people at the west and the South. The tourists can explore the real daily life and real Cambodian culture and civilization. Prey Ba Sak located on the hill, the former place of ancient temple, which was completely damaged by war. Nowadays, Prey Ba Sak is the place, which has the most complex forest among others in Svay Rieng province.

Prey Veng

Prey Veng has one of the countries busiest highways running straight through it-National Highway No 1, which links Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. It is a small but heavily populated agricultural region located on the east banks of the mighty Mekong.

There are little places of significance to see nowadays, but during the pre-Angkorian times it must have been one of the most populated and lively areas of the country. One of the earliest pre-Angkorian kingdoms was located in the area around Ba Phnom.

  • Ba Phnom
    There are four mountains in Ba Phnom: Phnom Sampeou, Phnom Laang, Phnom Thom and Phnom Banhchor. Ba Phnom was once the ancient city Nokor Phnom, which was located near these mountains in Ba Phnom district. Few remnants of the city remain. Among those that can be seen are pieces of the ancient temple Prasat Chan, which was located in front of Wat Vihear Kuk. At one time, the city also had a palace and a hall, but both have been destroyed by years of war.

    The view from the top of Ba Phnom is very picturesque. There is a big, rocky cave near the mountaintop that shelters wildlife. At the foot of mountain, there is a pagoda, Wat Phnom, also known as Wat Ba Phnom. Ba Phnom has been eyed for tourism development east of the Mekong River, because the area attracts many people on weekends and during Cambodian festivals.

  • Ba Ray An Det Resort
    Baray Andet is in Baray village, Baray commune, Prey Veng district, 3 kilometers west of Prey Veng provincial town. It is a plain on high ground surrounded by big trees. It is believed that Baray Andet is Bang Bot place, where all of the powerful and magical spirits in Prey Veng province gather, so local people consider it to be an ideal place for swearing oaths and praying. On Silas days, people play pinpeat “music for the spirit Neakta”. They pray for happiness and ask for rain to grow rice. This is also the starting point for the Neakta procession to Ba Phnom before Khmer New Year.
     
  • Chong Srok Temple
    Chong Srok temple was built of brick and sandstone in the 7th century. Although much of the temple has been destroyed, there remains a sandstone statue of a bull, once revered as a powerful Bodhisattva, or a Buddhist deity. Beside the three sites, there are 15 other worship sites for visitors to explore. Prey Chong Srok Temple is regarded as one of the best religious sites of the province. The architecture of the Prey Chong Srok Temple in Prey Veng is praiseworthy.

Kampong Cham

It is the most populous province of Cambodia. Located in the Southeast of the country, this province has borders with Kratie and Kampong Thom to the North, Vietnam to the East, Prey Veng and Kandal to the South and Kampong Chhnang to the West. Tourist Attractions in Kampong Cham mainly includes immense treasure of tourists’ attractive places ranging from natural wonders to archeological wonders and entertainment districts to cultural sites.

  • Banteay Prey Nokor
    Banteay Prey Nokor, commonly called “Historical Site of Luong Preah Sdech Korn. Banteay Prey Nokor is a former capital of the pre-Angkor period, It was re-chosen as a capital city in the 16th century during the reign of Luong Preah Sdech Korn ( also named King Preah Srey Chetha), Then, it was called Krong Sralop Pichey Banteay Prey Nokor, and later shortly “Banteay Prey Nokor” until now.
     
  • Phnom Han Chey
    Is one of the natural wonders of the region, which is wonderful in every season. The tourists will enjoy not only the scenic beauty of this region but also the rich culture. Across 295 beautiful stair steps, on reaching the top of the mountain, the tourists will find a pagoda and an ancient temple. The temple of Kuk is an ancient temple made of solid bricks and is seven square meters in size.  Moreover there is square shaped temple that is made of sandstone
     
  • Koh Pen
    Koh Pen beach is classified as a recreation park and one of the popular beaches of the Kampong Cham. The site of Koh Pen Beach is located midway to Kampong Cham and Kampong Siem District. The distance is about two kilometers from the Provincial Town of Kampong Cham.
     
  • Phnom Srey and Phnom Pros
    It is one such incredible treasure of the region which is worth visiting. The Phnom Srey and Phnom Pros is at a distance of 7 kilometers from the provincial town of Kampong Cham. The Phnom Srey and Phnom Pros in Kampong Cham is the name of a mountain peak that belongs to a mountain range exceeding 500 meters to the left. The northern part of Phnom Srey and Phnom Pros of Kampong Cham is surrounded by spectacular mountains of Dang Rek, Ba Ley and Chhuk. The tourist will find a high-five peak temple on the Phnom Srey and Phnom Pros. The temple is built in the form of Bontey Srey temple.

Kratie

Kratie is one of Cambodia's eastern provinces with less population, who make their lives on the riverbanks of the Mekong. The stretch of the river around Kratie town is home to a group of rare sweet water Irrawaddy dolphins. Therefore the dolphins are the main tourist attraction of the province and the town. The river also has hundreds of Green Island, and circling water, which are also attracting a lot of tourists. Kratie town is sleepy but picturesque with sandbars and big islands out front and bends in the river. Unlike in many towns around Cambodia, the war years were fairly kind to the French architecture and the roads, at least in the town itself. There are some nice-looking homes of French and Khmer style scattered about, adding to the pleasant feel of the place.

  • Dolphin Habitat
    The Dolphin Habitat, Kratie is a spectacular wildlife and nature reserve of Kratie. The Dolphin Habitat, Kratie is a favorite heaven for the nature lovers and the wildlife conservationists. Besides being a wonderful tourist hub the Dolphin Habitat, Kratie also plays a significant role in the conservation of dolphins. The amazing spectacle of the playful dolphins splashing in water is indeed a feast for the eyes. This place is considered one of the notable tourist attractions in Kratie especially it has attained extreme popularity with the kids. The Dolphin Habitat, Kratie is one of the must see places in Kratie.

Mundulkiri

Eastern province of Cambodia, it is the most sparsely populated province in the country despite being the largest in land area. The capital is Senmonorom town. Mondulkiri is known for its forested hills and powerful waterfalls. Mondulkiri is a candidate for eco-tourism and cultural tourism in Cambodia. The tourist can discover the life style of the tribe as well as enjoy the beautiful natural view.

  • Bou Sra Waterfall
    Located at Pich Chinda District, 43 kilometers from Senmonorom town, Bou Sra is the largest waterfall, made famous by a popular Khmer song in Mondulkiri and has three stages. It is very calm and it reaches of natural views which are unavoidable places for eco-lover tourists.
     
  • Sen Monorum Waterfall
    3 stages waterfall, Sen Monorum is located at Sen Monorum District in five-kilometer distance from the provincial town by red soil trail, along either sides of the trail, there are industrial plantations like rubber, coffee and cashew as well. With the cool water from the mountain and the song of the birds, it will make an unforgettable and very romantic souvenir to all the tourists who have visited this place.
     
  • Chrey Thom Waterfall
    Locates at Sen Monorum District in 43-kilometer distance from the provincial town, during the dry season, the waterfall has 15-meter height and 2-meter diameter, and during the rainy season, the waterfall has 11-meter height and 8-meter diameter. The waterfall surrounded by the plantation of Sro Lov and there is a big and brandy tree of Chrey.

Ratanakiri

A sparsely populated province, it is renowned for its unique natural beauty and wealth of natural resources. The physical and environmental characteristic of the province forms an impressive range including undulating hills and mountains, a level plateau, watershed lowlands, crater lakes, rivers and waterfalls.

  • Yeak Loam Lake
    Situated 5 km, South-East of Banlung, the Yeak Loam lake (volcanic crater) is the most beautiful lake of Ratanakiri formed by a volcanic eruption almost 4,000 years ago with 50 m. deep, 800 m. diameter and a walking path around the lake of 2,500 m. Two hundred meters of the track is a quaint wooden building housing tribal handicraft and the Crafts Museum.
     
  • Ou'Sean Lair Waterfall
    Ou'Sean Lair Waterfall is situated 26 km, South of Banlung. This Waterfall has 4 floors and the height of each floor is 4 m. The water flows throughout the year. Around the Waterfall there are beautiful natural landscapes and the visitors can take picture and swim in the cold waterfall.
     
  • Eisey Patamak Mountain
    At the top of Phnom Svay is the statue of a reclining Buddha, situated 2.5 km. Awesome and peaceful, it has lain undisturbed throughout the years. Cast your eye outwards to glimpse Laos in the north and Vietnam in the east, and enjoy the spellbinding serenity of the surrounding countryside. 
     
  • Veal Rum Plan (stone field)
    The visitors will find stones covering the entire surface of this place. Dense stone outgrowths are also found around this place. This place has an exotic appeal which seldom fails to fascinate the travelers. Veal Rum Plan (stone field) is a bizarre open space in the forest, covered almost entirely by stone. This area represents a circular area of flat stone. Instances are found that depict this place to be the remains of a cooled lava flow. In Khmer it is known as Veal Rum Plan and in English, Field of Stone.

Steung Treng

Located in the North-East of Cambodia, Stung Treng was formerly called Xieng Teng and was once a part of the vast Khmer Empire, then the Lao kingdom of Lan Xang and later the Lao kingdom of Champassack. During the period of French Indochina, this province was ceded back to Cambodia. It is a small town which can be accessible by land and boat. It’s a friendly, quiet country town situated on the confluence of the San River and the Mekong River

  • Phnom Preah Theat
    Phnom Preah Theat is located in Thmey Village and Commune, Stung Treng District, about 2 kilometes (5mn) from Provincial Town. It is a Nature Wildlife and Preserves.
     
  • Thala Barivat Resort
    It is historical resort in which there are many temples such as Preah Ko temple, Prambuong Lveng temple, Srei Temple and Angkor Kmao. Preah Ko temple, made of red bred, was built in 7-8 century during the feign of the king, Javvarman I. Besides Preah Ko temple, most of the ancient temples nearby have been heavily damaged over the time.
     
  • Fresh Water Dolphin
    Dolphins are one type of mammals that have been severely protected by the government. Nowadays the dolphins live mainly in the rivers and waterways of Kratie and Stung Treng provinces. The number of these mammals is estimated to be between 40 and 60 and they are often seen travelling in small groups of 6 to 10 individuals. The females usually give birth to young once every two years most often during the months of June to August. The young dolphins are about 1m in length at birth and suckle milk. By adulthood the dolphins can attain a length of over 2.5m and weigh up to 180kg. Their diet consists mainly of small fish, shellfish and snails. The dolphins can swim at speeds up to 40km per hour and stay submerged for periods between five and ten minutes.
