Khmer New Year
14, 15 & 16 April
Khmer New Year is the greatest traditional festival and national holiday. Khmer New Year begins on April 13th or 14th, depending on the ancient horoscope, “MohaSangkran”. During this special occasion, on the first day, all the families member gather, clean and decorate the house, prepare the fruit and drink to welcome new angel. In the second day, young people; daughter or son will offer the gifts to parents or elder people. In the third day, people go to pagoda to offer the foods, drinks, cake, flowers and money to monks to dedicate to the relatives’ death. In these three days, young people also play traditional games like Chol Chhoung, Teagn Proat at the pagoda.

It is a great celebration day according to Buddhism religion dedicated for Buddha's birthday, Illumination day and go away to Nirvan.

Royal Plowing Ceremony

The Royal Plowing Ceremony is an ancient royal ceremony to mark the traditional beginning of the rice growing season. Usually it is a King or His representative inaugurate and ploughing field with two oxen. After ploughing, the oxen are offered the plate of foods including rice, corn, green bean, sesame, fresh cut-grass and water, depending on what the oxen eat, court soothsayers make a prediction on whether the coming growing season will be bountiful or not.

Death‘s Traditional ceremony

It is also Great Traditional Holiday that Cambodian people gather at pagoda to offer food, cake, drinks, money to monks to dedicate for their relative‘s death. This Traditional ceremony start 15 days prior to last 3 days 25 September 2010 and will be held at Pagoda to offer food, drinks every day to monks.

Water Festival
18, 19 and 20 November 2010
It is Great Traditional Holidays with 3 days and the only occasion in which people in all provinces come to Phnom Penh to visit boat racing on Mekong River, boat-light and fireworks in front of Royal Palace.
